Colchester Hospital
Improving staff and patient experience with new facilities
noviniti, working in partnership with the Trust, successfully delivered the New Main Entrance at Colchester Hospital. The solution as developed, ensured the delivery of 21,000ft2 of accommodation which included the New Main Entrance lobby and reception, administration offices, a full suite of public washrooms and multiple retail offers including an 80 seat Costa Coffee, M&S Simply Food, WH Smith and a Stock Shop.
Crucially for the Trust, the development also provided for the new Urgent Care Centre and over 10,000ft2 of much needed office accommodation at first floor level.
The project necessitated a significant level of complex infrastructure enabling works and division of the main access route crossing the front of the hospital. The project was delivered in 8 months using bespoke modular construction solutions and opened to the public in November 2019.
