Northampton General Hospital
noviniti has been working with Northampton General Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to support their strategy of improving the staff, patient and visitor experience at Northampton General Hospital. The project culminated in July 2021 when the doors to the new Main Entrance were opened.
Improving staff, patient and visitor experience
The first phase of the project saw an extensive infrastructure works improvement package that included diverting the existing road and changes to car parking areas. These changes enabled the construction of the new Intensive Trauma Unit which the Main Entrance facility links to.

Ground Floor: 2033sqm
Timescales:
Road diversion inc medical gases diversion and main drainage diversion/upgrade – 6 months. New build extension including communal and retail fit-out – 5 months.
Build method:
Bespoke volumetric modular construction.
Scope of works:
- Complete Pre-Construction Period from Feasibility to Detailed Design, including Full Planning Permission
- Enabling Works for an Intensive Care Unit, including:
- Services and Infrastructure Diversions
- Diverted Road Infrastructure
- Site Creation
- Retail Main Entrance Facility with 4 Retail Units, Toilets and Reception Facilities
- Future Proofed Building for a first floor expansion.
- External Works to create a new Entrance Plaza
- Car Park Expansion
